The story behind MonkeyBot

MonkeyBot started a little over a year ago as a side project — something fun I built for my friends and our stupidly active Discord server. What began as a way to learn quickly became something none of us could live without. It's been used every single day since.

This bot has been my obsession. Every week I'd find something new to improve, something new to add. It went from a fun toy to a project I genuinely fell in love with. When people started asking “why don't you make this available to everyone?” — I couldn't ignore that. So I got to work.

I live on Discord. It's where my friends and I hang out every day, and I want that experience to be as good as it possibly can be. MonkeyBot has given us more laughs than I can count. Being able to share that with other communities now means everything to me.

When you use MonkeyBot, every feature request, every bug report, every idea goes directly to the person who writes the code. No ticket queues, no waiting on a team of people who've never used the bot. I use MonkeyBot every day in my own server — when something breaks, I find out the same way you do.

Seeing other people use something I built from scratch makes me stupidly happy. I'm always thinking about what's next — new features, smarter responses, more ways to make your server better. This project isn't slowing down anytime soon.
